SEO, which stands for Search Engine Optimization, is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or webpage in a web search engine’s unpaid results. This is most often referred to as natural or organic SEO results [1].   This means finding ways in which to increase your site in search results to web visitors. The rule of thumb for SEO is the more your site is seen, the more traffic your site will generate [2] .

SEO is so important because search engines today serve millions of users looking for answer to their questions and problems.  The majority of search engine users are more likely to choose website links that are listed within the top five results [3] . If site ranks on page two or lower, chances are unless the user has a lot of time on their hands they most likely will not even get to the second page before redefining their search request. In addition, users tend to trust search engines and having a top presence could increase their trust with your website as well.

Taking steps just to ensure your keywords are on point (and not overly used), adding image descriptions, and updating your content are just simple ways in which you can improve your SEO.
